Can live musicians perform with a DJ?
Yes. Many couples combine live musicians with their FNA DJ. The DJ keeps the music flowing while the sax player, drummer, or violinist adds improvisation, energy, and guest interaction on top. It is a combination guests rarely expect and love.
When do live musicians usually perform?
Musicians can play during the ceremony, cocktail hour, or reception. Strings are a favorite for the prelude, processional, and cocktail hour, while saxophone, drums, and electric violin usually join the DJ for the big dance-floor moments.
How long do the musicians play?
The drum and electric violin experiences include up to 4 hours of music alongside your DJ. A ceremony or cocktail-hour musician, with your choice of instrument, plays for up to 1 hour. Your planner will map the sets to your timeline.
Does the saxophonist interact with guests?
Yes. Many FNA sax players walk through the crowd and perform right on the dance floor during high-energy songs, so the performance becomes part of the party rather than a show on the side.
What music works best with live saxophone?
Saxophone works well with dance music and house, pop and Top 40, Latin music, and classic party songs. FNA sax players have played along to everything from classic rock to rap requests, following your DJ’s set in real time.
Can we choose our ceremony songs?
Yes. You can choose traditional or modern songs for your ceremony. Many modern songs can be arranged for violin or strings, and you can request pieces that are meaningful to the two of you.
How many musicians do we need?
Some couples book a single musician, such as a violinist for the ceremony or a saxophonist with the DJ. Others combine several, like sax and drums together, depending on the style and size of the event.
Can live music be added to a DJ package?
Yes. Live musicians are add-on enhancements, so you can add a sax, drum, or violin experience or a ceremony musician to any FNA entertainment package and run everything through one team and one timeline.
